Despite it’s scale, this was a hugely complex project undertaken for carste STUDIO. With a site width of only 6m, designing a residential flat building that was going to not only be a great place to live but still be financially feasible was always going to be complicated.
The scheme incorporates 18 Residential Units and Newcastle’s first multistorey car stacker system. To make the project work we amalgamated this site with the adjacent three storey brick building which accommodated 6 residential units at commencement.
Now completed, the project includes a mixture of one, two and three bedroom units, 10 units in the original building which has been extended and a new floor constructed at roof level, and 8 units in the new building.
